Barney's family seems ordinary enough...until Great Uncle Barnaby dies. Suddenly, an eerie, weird voice starts taunting poor Barney unmercifully. It won't leave him alone. Only his sister Tabitha, the aspiring novelist, seems to notice that something is dead wrong.

Barney doesn't know what's happening. He only knows he's terrified. Someone, somewhere in this world OR the next, is coming to get him, and he's powerless to do anything about it.

Each day the footsteps and the voice get closer and louder. And each day Barney slips farther and farther away. He has to. His visitor insists on it.

It seems like an ordinary family...except it REALLY isn't.
