Ogilvie Kidd has two talents - freestyle cycling and writing poetry. This odd combination forces Og to make a choice that will affect the rest of his life.

His name is Ogilvie Kidd and his first love is freestyle cycling, on his backyard half-pipe with his best friends - Roland Gilbert, a straight-A over acheiver and Chester "Couch" Field, a fanatical jock who's failing English. Then fifteen-year-old "Og" discovers a new talent - wirting about the thrills of his favourite sport. Roland thinks it's great, but Couch turns hostile. Poetry is boring stuff written by dead guys. Things only get worse when Mallory Nightengale starts to notice Og.

When Tony Jones, the world's best freestler, comes to town and pays a visit to Og's half-pipe, Og and his friends learn surprising things about themselves, and make choices that will affect the rest of their lives.
