It couldn't be true! Kelly's free-spirited mother had run off--with the father of straitlaced Jase Whittaker. Obviously some nefarious influence was at work. Kelly would have to find her mother and bring her back to her senses.

Jase had something of the same idea. His father had apparently been blinded by a designing woman's charms and needed to be shocked back to reality.
