The Downside of Deception
Is everyone living a lie? Does everybody have a secret to hide? Retired-teacher-turned-real-estate-agent Abigail Turner suspects this is the case when she gets embroiled in a chilling investigation that has more twists and turns than the streets of her hometown, Owensburg, Kentucky. Abby has a big problem on her hands: her close friend and office manager, Kristi Parson, is accused of killing a client who is trying to cheat her out of her commission. Abby enlists the services of retired police officer Lance Hammer to prove that Kristi's chronic male bashing has not evolved into murder. In the meantime she must face her own personal crisis: a straying husband and a disintegrating marriage. In her determination to uncover the truth, Abby meets many people who are not as they seem. Her pursuit to discern what's real and what isn't leads her to one unmistakable conclusion: deception has a downside and it can be deadly.
