Vanessa Hua is an award-winning journalist who has reported from China, South Korea, and Burma, and has written for the San Francisco Chronicle, Newsweek, and the New York Times, among other publications. She is winner of the 2008 Atlantic Monthly student fiction prize, and her work has been published or is forthcoming in American Literary Review, Hopkins Review, River Styx, and elsewhere. She is a graduate of Stanford University and the MFA program at the University of California, Riverside
