It was an old hotel in North Wales, a place where Allison Temple had come many years before. Where she had seen a man in a dark frock coat. And spoken to him.

Now the hotel has changed. There is a new manager and a group of little girls. An old professor in search of ghosts. And a gray, striped tabby in the hall.

Up in the trees, some creature is smiling. All the little girls are screaming. The fog has settled on the headland of North Wales. And a man in a dark frock coat is calling… But who does he want to kill?
