The Cabaret of the Roaring Mouse — Erich von Neff

Frieda and Gitta drive up in their Bugatti to the Cabaret of the Roaring Mouse. Time passes, they rendezvous at the Red Piano Bar. By stealth and by conniving and with the help of Louie the Weasel they obtain the secret plans from the Germans and pass them to La Resistance. Later, within a fragmented dream a homeless man’s shoes stick out from beneath his blanket. While within the library of the mind a Jesuit sits on a block of ice which is slowly melting.
