When Belle Calhoun steps off the stage into Tombstone, Arizona, in the spring of 1885, she never expected to arrive just in time to witness a hanging, to get into a tussle with a saloon owner, to have to borrow a dress from a saloon girl, or to attend a stranger's funeral, all within her first hour in town.
