Will Marston, the grandson of England's legendary bowman Edmund Marston is just like his grandfather. He's accomplished with the bow. Will is summoned to Kendal Castle to demonstrate his skills before Sir Thomas Erpingham.

Sir Thomas Erpingham, a household knight in the court of King Henry V has been sent to Kendal Castle in the North of England to inspect bowman that Sir Edward Parr, The Baron of Kendal, will take to France on behalf of King Henry.
Will is racked with nerves. But not with showing his skills with a bow but for the first time in eighteen months he will see his sister Mary.

Because of a bad harvest eighteen months before Sir Edward Parr had taken Mary Marston as payment of rent from their father Robert Marston. Since Will has last seen his sister she has married Sir Edward and is now called Lady Mary Parr.
Will Marston must make a decision. Will he take the opportunity to kill Sir Edward or will he do his duty for king and country.
