The Blue Place — Nicola Griffith

Aud Torvingen is a former police lieutenant who is at home both on the elegant social scene and in the underworld of brutal crime. The Blue Place introduces us to Aud and a beautiful woman she collides with while taking a stroll. Suddenly, a house explodes behind them and a renowned art historian dies. When Aud turns around, the woman is gone, but eventually, she finds Aud again and seeks her protection. The pair soon finds themselves drawn toward each other as they try to escape a dangerous world of money, drugs and murder.
