Darnella, Duncan, and Longknife are in search of clues to the name of the False One; a powerful God who brings misery to all. These clues are in the form of letters which spells out his name. When all the clues are found they must denounce him five times in the company of men. This will not be an easy quest, the False One watches from above. He plagues them with many trials and tribulations but nothing he throws at them can defeat them. They are the three who will fight for the innocent and the weak.
