“THE ARCHER” #13 HAWKMAN SERIES It astounded Tom Casey, Private Investigator, better known as Hawkman, when a young woman in jeans and cowboy boots literally fell into his office screaming ‘No, No'. He dropped to the floor, and pulled his weapon. Laura King was being harassed on her cell phone by an unknown assailant, who knew her whereabouts and had threatened her with vile language. Hawkman took it upon himself to find out who was tormenting this young woman and why. He began to investigate her college friends and came upon several suspects. The saved recordings didn't help them identify any certain person, until Laura discovered the possibility of it being a female instead of a male speaking, due to certain inflections she could hear in the voice, and information she'd honed from one of her speech classes. After Hawkman's office, home, and SUV were riddled with arrows, he narrowed the search down to persons interested in archery. He discovered several of Laura's friends took compound bow classes at the college which she attended. Hawkman interrogated the teacher of this class and found out the names of the people Laura knew. The best student turned out to be Cindy Brown, a young woman from a wealthy family, and supposedly a good friend of Laura's. When Laura's pet lamb was killed by an arrow, Hawkman began to dig deeper into Cindy's past, and unearthed an interesting story that occurred between Laura and Cindy's boyfriend, Brett Gibson. The more he unraveled Cindy's personality, the more he found. One was the girl's deep jealousy of anyone coming between her and her boyfriends, or her wrath toward any one of the boys for dumping her for another woman. No one could figure out why this beautiful young woman would ever worry about keeping a beau to the extent of planning to kill them. The more Hawkman found out about Cindy Brown, the more he worried about his client, Laura. He purchased GPS tracking systems for both her car and her person. This way he could keep an eye on her travels and make sure no one kidnapped her. He also put her on a strict regimen of limiting her driving only to and from school, so he'd know if she varied off the normal routine. The surprising and exciting climax of this story should not be missed.
