It was not a chance anyone would turn down lightly -- Greece for three weeks in April with all expenses paid and a generous salary thrown in. Lydia's knowledge of Greek history and her interest in the ruins soon involve her in calculations that are far from archaeological, and there are time when even Marius, the Oxford don, seems to suspect her motives.
