This is the story of a Pop Festival - not a sordid picture of what is said to take place, but how the village and its inhabitants became involved. When a tempting offer to let the grounds of a large estate is accepted, the owner expected no repercussions. But he was quite wrong. Each member of the family becomes caught up by events. For the wife, it meant meeting Noel, her early love. For Melinda, the younger daughter being brought in to help the organiser, a fly young man indeed. For the beautiful elder girl there was only heartbreak and disillusion, while her father surveyed the ruin of his grounds in sad bewilderment.
