Springboard to Love — Grace Lang

To Maria Remington, swimming and diving were the most exciting things in life. And when she heard that Pappy Lang, one of the best swimming coaches in the United States, was coaching at Carter, a small college in Ohio, she was determined that Carter was the place for her -- not exclusive Gromley, where she would be “finished” in the same manner as all the other girls there, whom she privately considered “selfish snobs.”

Springboard to Love is the story of a girl who knew what she wanted and didn't hesitate to go after it, even if it meant breaking with tradition and getting by on a shoestring. To her charming story of a potential Olympics diving champion, Miss Lang has added a romantic interest in two men who wanted Maria -- one of whom was willing to subordinate his own interests and to recognize and sympathize with the ambition of the girl he loved.
