Their love was timeless. And neither his wife--nor God--would come between them...

1815, Cariad, a baby girl left in the house of Megan, a good, but rather strange woman who lives by herself and is accused by the villagers of being a witch. Cariad grows up to be a beautiful girl, loved and sheltered by Megan, with a wonderful voice. But she also has the gift of the second sight, and when she meets Simon for the first time, the incredibly handsome son of a wealthy man, she knows that she has been with him before, in other times, and she will be with him again. When Megan dies, she ends up working in Simon's house, where she has to deal with Simon's terrible wife, a very young and heartless wench, and resist the temptation of sinning with the only man she'll ever love.
