Smell the Plumerias
Lilith's transformation continues on the Big Island of Hawaii with new love Adam after a tragic death. They connect deeply with the natural world as they swim with the wild spinner dolphins in Kealakekua Bay. BOOK EXCERPT: "I see them," Adam said, pointing to the far right side of the bay, a breeze blowing his dark brown hair in his eyes. "We're in luck again. Let's go." Lilith squeezed Adam's free hand, and they waded into the still bay with their snorkeling gear. The forms that disturbed the waters continued with splashing and display of body parts. The couple swam as quickly as possible, propelled by fins and aided by their snorkels and face masks. They slowed as they neared their destination. "Do you see them?" Adam asked finally, treading water. They'd stopped where they thought their friends should be, with no signs of them anywhere. "They've got to be here. Maybe if we swim...." Instantly surrounded by the dolphins, Lilith and Adam watched in awe as they swam beneath them, on either side of them, and a few thrust up and spun on their tails above the sea. They secured their face masks and dove below to join in with the pod, clicks and calls filling their ears. THE STORY: Pittsburgh bookstore manager Lilith Devlin and new love Adam Kramer fly to the Big Island of Hawaii, their reward from the faeries. The "free" trip goes haywire when Adam's demanding daughter Ann arrives uninvited, followed by the murder of their spinner dolphin friend, Winddancer. Lilith vows to find his killer, and as they investigate, they discover a deeper mystery: someone has violated a sacred site of volcano goddess Pele. Will they discover the sacred site before Pele's smoldering anger transforms to rage? Amidst Kilauea's increasing volcanic eruptions, disturbing earthquake tremors, and threat of tsunamis, they travel the island, helped by concerned locals, including Ann's new friend Jason, searching for the spot or its desecrators. Besides this, there's chaos within Lilith, whose commitment problem with men threatens her life with dear Adam; she relives past life experiences on Hawaii as she seeks healing to ensure their romantic flames burn bright.
