Shelter in New Haven
When Ruth Brewer finds out that her father's generous inheritance has some very disturbing conditions attached to it, which she rejects. Driven out of the home, she joins a wagon train as its medic and leaves for the West. She soon falls in love with a fellow traveler and they get married, but encounter very frightening problems along the way. Jeremy Mercer can't bear to see the suffering of others and refuses to be a part of his father's business empire. Headed west with a group of new friends, he soon finds the love of his life. She proves that she not only loves him, but is also ready to take on great challenges to protect their love and marriage.
