The tranquility of the Tennessee Valley farm soon lured Meg Magavey from the fast paced job and lifestyle of Nashville. Having worked for years as an entertainment coordinator she was ready for the simpler life. Recently widowed, she was surprised that the vacation home her husband had so wanted to give her as an anniversary gift was a working farm. It didn't take her long to realize the memory of her childhood, on her grandparent's farm, was not reflective of just how much work a farm required. Caring for the livestock, gathering the eggs, maintaining the garden and the processing of the produce, would have overwhelmed her, if not for the overseer her husband hired, and the help of her daughter. The protection of the four legged kind also proved to be more helpful than any security system. Even the tranquility of country living can be interrupted when evil tries to make its way in. However, her faith in God and help of family and community, proved more powerful than the foe. Healing came to the families of Shady Ridge and love finally found its way into the hearts of those God brought together.
