Nearly every family was split down the middle during the long and bloody civil war that tore the country of Anaserra in two almost a century ago. Brother fought brother, sisters killed sisters. It was inevitable. Siblings were destined to strife, bound to re-ignite a war long stalemated.

Or so the Centre says.

Simply put, if family is a threat, then family must be rationed. So siblings were sent out of the protective gates of the Centre as sacrificial lambs for peace. Holding the peace. Keeping the populace in its place.

It's all a lie.

Arden knows it.

She's spent thirteen years in the wilderness outside those very gates. She's seen brothers and sisters live in peace, play and tease and love. Arden herself still loves the brother she was forced to leave behind.
