Second Chance picks up in the middle of the action where the first novel left off. It continues to follow the wild and wacky adventures of Sheriff Chance Colt and his unique posse of friends and co-workers, as they ride day after day through the American West, meeting up and squaring off with the always unusual, quirky and sometimes downright dangerous citizens and cast of characters from both sides of the International Border between the United States and Mexico. Some of the same characters from the first novel appear again, along with several new characters, as this 19th century lawman tries to make his way safely through this 21st century world we all live in.

Chance continues to use his wit, wisdom, common sense, dog sense, horse sense, Native American Indian philosophy, Zen Buddhist philosophy, sense of humor, charm and a bit of old-fashioned, smart-assed sarcasm and street justice to fight the never-ending battle between good versus evil in this world.

Second Chance continues this journey through the life and times of Sheriff Chance Colt and his comrades in arms. Sometimes giving someone a second chance is like--giving them an extra bullet for their gun because they missed you the first time.
