This book consists of three television tales, two horror stories and one magic realism story. In Suburbia Sapientia, a young man tries to connect with his dead mother through the nostalgic sitcoms they used to watch together. In Lonely Hearts and Comic Tragedies, a clown couple wins the heart of 1960's America with a new variety show, but their humorous broadcast comes with sinister costs. In A TV Casualty in a Static Age, Portland punks share a squat with an ignored television set. Unbeknownst to the punks, the television is alive, sentient, and more aware of its surroundings than they could ever imagine. All three of these stories are by Brian Barr.
