Rising Power — Emily L. Goodman

Annie and Draken know what it means that they are the Cavemages: they're the ones who stand between Luria and the rising darkness. All things considered, however, they should be due for a reprieve. The known threats to Luria have been vanquished, and they should have some time to sit back and take care of some of the other things currently tugging at their attention: healing the land, handling some paperwork, and finally planning their wedding. Unfortunately, things aren't quite as peaceful as they would have liked. A figure from Draken's past appears to shake things up, bringing with him more bad news. As Annie and Draken take to the field again, they think that they're prepared for anything as long as they're able to face it together. Before the mission's end, however, Annie will be faced with a terrible choice that has the potential to change the future of Luria.
