Leila Seeger knew what she wanted. The ranch she had been raised on and she was willing to do some rather unpleasant and irreversible things to accomplish this.

Her cousin, Flora Fontaine wanted Sheriff Brian Carlyle. It didn't matter to Flora that the sheriff seemed to be more attracted to Leila than he was to her. She did she care that he was on a vendetta of revenge against the outlaws who had tried to hang him, had ransacked his town, and had killed his fiancé.

While Flora agenda was the catalyst that placed Leila on a course that would take her away from all the things she loved, and thought she loved, and directly into a world of the unknown, with a man who stirred her senses, but fille her with uncertainty.
