Return Engagement
Out of desperate necessity, vivacious young Dani Jordan, cold-shouldered by Hollywood, became a housekeeper for a famous movie actress. How could Dani have known that she was destined to fall madly in love with the only man her glamorous employer had ever really wanted?

It was hard on Dani--Danielle--Joran when her mother's heart attack forced her to give up the Theater Workshop in Hollywood where she had been a scholarship student. Her acting career was over before it had begun, and she was faced with finding a job--any kind of job--that would help with medical and household expenses.

Auburn-haired Dani took her French mother's advice and got a job as a mother's helper--to none other than the amazing beautiful actress Serena Mallock, whose little boy would be in Dani's care. Before she could fully realize it, Dani was in Serena's Cadillac on her way to Harling Hill, a luxury California resort in the mountains, which one a year became a mecca for aspiring young actresses who hoped to win the Juliet Award.

There Dani met sandy-haired Brian Harling, a charmer; fragile Kathy Collins, the young ward of Brian and Kent Harling's father; and finally the mysterious Kent himself, tall and craggily handsome, who treated Dani with a combination of playfulness and tenderness that caused her heart to do cartwheels. Yet there was a sadness in his eyes at times, and Danie knew that Serena was the cause of it; for some reason, she wanted to protect him from the actress.

Romance and heartbreak have their part in this intriguing story of a girl who, in the strange ways of fate, was to have a second chance at the acting career she had renounced.
