Losing Steve was hard enough to bear. Would a marriage on the rebound make it any easier?
Back home from Alaska and facing problems in renewing her relationship with her boyfriend, Kathy takes on private duty cases and helps out during a Christmastime flood and epidemic that threaten her hometown.
A critically burned child needed Kathy; her brother Nick, in trouble at college, needed her; the disaster-struck townspeople needed her when the Christmas floods hit. Everyone needed her but Steve. Kathy had returned from Alaska especially to be near him -- and he didn't seem to care!
Evelyn Scott -- beautiful, bright, with relatives who could help Steve's career -- was stealing him away while Kathy watched helplessly. Kathy tried to smile in spite of Steve's coolness, but she knew she was a better nurse than actress.
