Jerid London was a happy and popular fifteen-year-old. At least he was until he was forced to move to the Pride Community-or the P.C. as it was known by the odd people living there. Jerid and his mom, dad, and younger brother, Conner moved to his father's childhood home, known as the 'Savannah House'. When they got there, Jerid was not only not popular, but he was suddenly extremely ordinary, at least in the physical sense. Every student at the Pride School for Boys was a super-jock like him. But that wasn't the worst of his troubles. Jerid was also the heir to Savannah House and his father's extended family wasn't very happy about his California upbringing or the fact that his mom was an 'outsider'. No one had married outside of the Pride Community in generations until his father! No, the families in the P.C. had settled there in the 1800s and they were more than strange! Then Jerid learned that he and his brother had inherited whatever strange curse it was that had made them flee England in the first place. And no one, not even Jerid's dad, would tell him what the curse was! Little did he know that his entire world was about to change. For that matter, so was Conner's-unless they found a way to escape first!
