An unemployed assurance manager, Zak puts his peculiar set of skills to the test for an unknown benefactor named G. Can he avoid the tragedy and redundancy of his past or will he fail again?

------

In New Market Town there are very few real opportunities for an ageing, balding, redundant assurance professional like Zak. In Praline Industries Zak finds the mysterious G, someone aloof and foolish enough to consider the redundant, balding man a viable job prospect. Desperate, drained, Zak finds himself in a mercurial and dangerous mix of secret packages and bed time telly.

The opportunity could not have come too soon. The misfortune of Zak's past had led to a bin full of empty tuna tins and an ever expanding waistline. He saw the mysterious benefactor as a hobbled alley cat might spotting the grey puffs of hair atop a lonely widower's head, unsure if the chance encounter spoke towards a life of never before seen riches or a quick trip to a veterinarian's cage. Either way the cat was dragged on nonetheless.

Zak has no alternative but to do whatever it takes, and maybe, finally, he will find a new life of happiness and value.
