Oasis — Matthew Sabin

Two hundred years before the rise of Julius Caesar, Rome and Carthage are locked in a bitter struggle for control of the western world. In the ocean between them is a small island city that will become a crucial turning point in the war. Amidst the peaceful waters and swaying beach palms, a band of spies and counter-spies wage a war for intelligence that could help their militaries achieve a decisive victory. A young musician, Elise, tries to carry on with her life, even while her father is Rome's greatest enemy. Alliances are blurred for many of the islanders, including a Roman spy, Niccolo, who finds himself on both sides of the conflict. Meanwhile, the invasion force is preparing their long-awaited revenge.
