NOVA (58,943 words) is the story of the asteroid tug the Bainbridge Runner. The old tug gathers rocks from the space around its solar system for miners back on their home world. Tuggers, as the people who lived on these ships, often spent much of their lives in space living aboard the ship. When a supernova swept their home star away the pilot threw the ship into hyperspace until the plasma wave passed through normal space. When the ship returned to normal space they were in a hole of emptiness where their solar system had formally been. A blue dwarf was all that remained of their former home star. No planets remained. They were alone in their desolation. This is their story of survival.
