My Island Beach — Robert Schwartz

Island Beach State Park has inexplicably avoided becoming a major seaport, resort and naval base. Katy Brace, a 17 year-old girl, decides to spend the last summer before college with her beloved grandfather. She discovers, during that seminal summer, that she and her grandfather are covertly involved in its survival and existence in Island Beach's present pristine form.
