John Chadwick is lost in thick fog at night in the depths of the country. He stops his car, and a girl's figure looms up in the headlamps' glare. She is exhausted and pleads for help, but Chadwick is forestalled by two men who claim she is an escaped mental patient. The next morning Chadwick learns there is no mental hospital for miles!
