Being a genius isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Ever since Tess revealed her musical genius at age three, every choice in her life has been made for her. Her mother moved her to New York, enrolled her in a special school, found her the best violin teachers, told her when to practice and for how long. But no one ever told Tess what to do if she failed. So when she botches her big solo in an important concert, she abandons her violin and retreats to her father's home in Montana.

Once there, Tess is drawn into a mystery involving a pioneer who played violin himself. Maybe through uncovering his story, Tess can find the inspiration to pick up her violin again. And maybe this time, she'll be able to make that decision all by herself.
