by Malcolm Boyd
This novel is fiction with a side helping of fact. It revolves around the 2010 Soccer World Cup. It will appeal to all soccer lovers who attended the World Cup during June and July 2010, as well as to the billions of viewers and listeners who, for one reason or another, were unable to attend. The story is based in Cape Town, South Africa but ventures into Central Africa, North Africa, the Middle East, the United States of America, and the United Kingdom. While not a soccer story, it highlights the efforts of the CIA to protect the VIPs and teams from the threat of terrorism.

About the Author
The author was born in England during the Second World War and was educated at the 500-year-old Bristol Grammar School. After school, he joined the Royal Navy at the Dartmouth Royal Naval College. His time done in the Navy, he emigrated to Central Africa and served in the Colonial Police. On Independence, he moved to Industrial and Commercial Security and worked in Zambia, Malawi, Swaziland, and the DRC. Now semi-retired and living in South Africa, he helps his son-in-law sell used earth-moving equipment.

Married and with three grown children and a parcel of grandchildren, he lives on the outskirts of Johannesburg with his wife of forty-seven years and the dog.
