David Sands, a young Christian boy, is very excited. He's competing in his small town's annual Iron Man race, in which youngsters compete in running, swimming and cycling events.

But suddenly, while leading the race, David simply disappears. The whole town-plus the Army and the media -- search for him. There seems to be no hope. David is gone without a trace.

Me a hero? races down a trail that includes dangerous rapids, hopelessly lost children, a runaway gang, and jail time. It started out as a day of fun -- will it end in tragedy or heroics?
