Cathy is having adjustment problems at collegelow grades, boyfriend troubles, jealous enemies. John isn't calling because he's too attracted, and her friends foil evil Susan's plan to get John into bed by mid-term. Campus Fever girls cuss, drink, do drugs and are very mean to each other, all with a certain slangy exuberance. The plot rests on an implausibility. Definitely not clean-cut romance for the younger set.
