The Smith family continues to enlarge not only in their physical numbers but in their control over the city's hospital systems. Their sixteenth daughter now returned from Houston with her Doctor of Medicine degree takes her residency at her own hospital. It is a strange situation when the student has the ability to fire her teacher on the spot - which happens at one time. Her daughter Tiffany, while tending her baby brother and a girls from the larger Smith family finds an admirer in an ex-Marine who now works as a police officer in the city. He befriends Detective Ralph Smith and finds even more attachment to Tiffany herself. Love and destiny move the two together quickly. When an aneurysm takes the life of Dr. Smith the family adjusts with an assurance from the spirit world that all is well after all.
