Lucky Dip, and Other Stories — Liza Cody

Liza Cody, the creator of Anna Lee (on which the successful British television/A&E series was based), is one of Britain's most acclaimed mystery and suspense writers. Her Anna Lee novel, Dupe, received the John Creasey Award for Best First Novel from the Crime Writers Association, and Bucket Nut received the CWA Silver Dagger. The title story in Lucky Dip and Other Stories was honored by the Bouchercon, World Mystery Convention with the Anthony for Best Short Story.

Liza Cody's short stories emphasize women who are ensnared in situations not of their own making, but who (usually) survive and (sometimes) prosper. The tales run from 2 lighthearted stories set in Florida, "Where's Stacey" and "A Card or a Kitten" to the dark "Woke Up One Morning," written especially for this volume and which we (the publishers) think will be recognized as one of the finest crime and mystery stories of this decade.
