Young, pretty Kay Inger met Felix Guthrie, the mysterious security guard, on the ferry to Gull Island. And from the start their relationship was difficult. Kay came to the island to write a magazine article about the Black Legacy, a valuable antique pin that was recently dug up there. Buried by pirates, the Black Legacy was said to be cursed. Even today it was connected with ghostly happenings and screams in the night. It troubled the new friends Kay had made on the island. And worst of all, Kay could not be sure of Felix's true connection with the antique. For though this man she loved was seemingly guarding a mansion, she knew he was hiding something from her.
