Late autumn, 2015, in Tannenheim, Germany. Lost property dealer, Montgomery (Monty) Bradley Brodnitz, decides to visit Tannenberg castle to watch the arrival of the long-awaited refugees. The violence he witnesses forces him to re-evaluate his life and his long-held values. He also has to deal with a rebellious son and the effects of the violence on his wife, Ingrid - the daughter of refugees who arrived in Germany from the Sudetenland in 1946. At first, Monty thinks his life is falling apart but it is his wife who saves the day by showing Monty the value of forgiveness.
