Lost in the Fog — Robert Perry

A dense fog can hide and conceal so many scenes; it can even obscure the mind into believing the images seen are not what they appear. For a youth attempting to impress his friends, a foggy road sets the scene for a tumultuous night of pain, fear and anxiety. All that he sees on his lone journey is masked in the thick veil that hangs over the land, just as his own soul is masked from his mind. First a slight swooshing, then a gradual building of noises and appearances around him are enough to drive the youth nearly mad. What can be on the road that is seemingly stalking the young man as he attempts to traverse the street? Is it some creature recently liberated, or the demons that dwell in the mind? Will he make it back safely to the house he vacated and warn the others? Or is it too late for them all already? Suspenseful and shocking, this story antagonizes the mind and lures the reader deep into the fog-laden street to venture alone with the youth, wondering if whatever lies in the vapor will get them next.
