When Kailani's first love, Courtney, was sentenced to seven to fifteen years in prison he did the noble thing and cut all ties with her. Courtney stopped calling, he returned all of Kailani's letters and would not accept her visits. After trying and failing to have any type of contact with him Kailani finally gave up.
