Jessica Stone and Uncle Walter is the first in a series of seven novels that bring together an old ghost and his niece Jessica. As a Realtor selling homes with bodies buried in the back yard is cause for her dead uncle's concern. Contacting her the spirit sets the woman on a course of action that ends in her being befriended by a police detective involved in the criminal end of the things that Jessica keeps uncovering via her dead Uncle Walter. When the death of the parents of a young girl kidnapped to be sold into the slave trade in Hong Kong, the two marry suddenly to provide parents for the young brilliant girl. Jessica Stone and Uncle Walter begins the story of the couple adopting girls who have lost both of their parents through some tragic event. The entire series relays the stories of their lives and the interference of the old ghost as he puts his influence into their lives. The first book in the series deals with the first five adopted daughters, their forming bond as sisters and the actions of Uncle Walter's spirit who has returned to provide for his family. As a prolific author of unpublished manuscripts he starts the publishing process and in doing so makes some very interesting acquisitions along the way - some twenty six or so billion of them to me exact. Drug cartels in Central America are not happy, but what are they going to do, kill a ghost? The Smith family and their first five adopted daughters are set for life. Then again, when is one ever really "set for life"?
