Autumn feels as if she has lost everything: her best friend, her love, and her direction. She still has Nick, but Nick isn't doing so well either. The love of his life hates him, and being a warlock is, well, exactly as hard as you'd think. They could both use a pleasant distraction, maybe something like volunteering at one of the super exclusive weddings that take place on the Castleton coast every year.The idea is nice, but Autumn and Nick soon realize that they can't escape who they are. Nick is on his way to becoming a warlock and Autumn doesn't want to. She wants to be strong, and she wants Carley back as her best friend. She's also realizing that there's something wrong with Holt. She wonders whether he'll ever get back to what he was, and what she should do in the meantime. Finally, she's forced to contemplate what it means when change becomes permanent, and to face the pain of watching Samuel date someone else.Meanwhile, trouble is brewing from an unexpected direction.
