Inventing a Tinker
Connect the gears of a clock and it tells time. Connect the gears of a tinker, and it's time for a reckoning.

Cadmus Errol is an apprentice clockmaker rankling under the tutelage of a master he has already surpassed. He has dreams of greater things, but too much patience for his own good. When Jennai steps into his life, she derails the track his life was stuck on. Together, they find a purpose, a crusade. She introduces him to a whole new world, and it needs a Mad Tinker, not a clockmaker.

Inventing a Tinker is the first book of the Mad Tinker Chronicles, an Amazon bestselling steampunk epic fantasy series with multiple point of view characters. If you love steampunk gadgetry and heroes who get their hands dirty, Mad Tinker Chronicles is for you!

Interview with the Author

Q - So, what made you decide to write the Mad Tinker Chronicles?

A â€" My background is mechanical engineering. That was my day job before I switched to writing full time. A lot of fictional technology has always rubbed me the wrong way. I'm willing to buy into magic and lost scientific knowledge, but beyond that many still trample over basic physics and engineering. I wanted to write a series filled with technological marvels that used magic, but which didn't simply ignore physics and engineering otherwise.

I wrote the Mad Tinker Chronicles as a fantasy engineer. Magic does what magic does, and physics takes care of the rest. From artificial limbs to electromagnetic guns, the basic principles underlying the inventions are sound.

Q â€" Just what genre is this, anyway?

A â€" Mad Tinker Chronicles is straight-up epic fantasy set in a steampunk-friendly world. The inventions and technological sophistication are reminiscent of the early 20th century, but the world is entirely fantastical.

Q - So, why should readers give these books a try?

A â€" Mad Tinker Chronicles is a fast-paced, far-flung, multi-point-of-view steampunk epic fantasy, and it's not for the faint of heart. These books will force the reader to think along with the characters as they try to outwit, out-plan, and out-invent each other.
