When Lillian Dorsey inherits the family home from the grandfather who banished her pregnant mother decades earlier, she travels to see the house and sell it. Instead, she is captivated by the Edwardian beauty and intrigued by the ghost. When the original owner manifests himself, he's both charming and witty. Lillian can't hide her attraction to Howard Speakman especially when she learns it's mutual. Since she's alive and he's long dead, however, there seems to be no way they can ever be together.
