Hunted
Vincent walked in carrying the corpses of the two hunters and dropped them on the floor in front of me. Next to him stood a small fair-skinned girl with flame-red hair. She had with her another young girl who had apparently been bound and gagged with duct tape. "Mikayla, I presume?" I asked the red-haired girl. "Yep. That's me. And this," she said, shoving the other girl toward me, "is Emily. The daughter of those two corpses. She pretended to be Alexis's friend, all the while she was spying and reporting back to her parents." "Ahh, traitors," I said, walking back and forth in front of them. "We seem to have a lot of treason going on around here." I removed the duct tape from the girl's mouth. She looked at me but said nothing. I could smell the stench of fear oozing from her pores. I hollered for Lucian. "Lucian, take this girl..." "Emily," Mikayla chimed in. "Lucian, take Emily to the dungeon. I'm sure we have a lovely cell befitting of a traitor waiting for her. Vincent, take the corpses to the meat locker until I can figure out what to do with them. After you drop off the bodies, meet me in Alexander's office. Mikayla, you come with me." Hunted, the second installment in The Prophecy Chronicles. Life is never the same when you've been hunted.
