VAPORS OF TERROR

Alix Bonney came to the old chateau - once a pirate stronghold - to discover the truth behind an old family curse.

Convinced that the chateau harbored dark secrets, Alix began to investigate. She found a tower room, heavily barred for over a hundred years, and sinister evidences of native witchcraft being practiced within the legend that surrounded the house - a legend which could lead Alix to her birthright ...or her death!

GRIM VISAGE OF HORROR

I climbed the slender spiral staircase to the top and found myself at the threshold of a large circular room completely surrounded with windows, creating the effect of a continuous wall of glass.

The room was empty. No footprints showed on the dusty floor, yet I had distinctly heard a sound coming from this room. Then I saw it...the shape of a man but without substance. It came toward me, gliding rather than putting one foot before the other, yet as it moved I heard the sound of footsteps on the wooden floor.

It came until it stood directly in from of me and its face was that of a being beside itself with rage. I took a step backward and clung to the railing of the staircase. The figure raised its hands and I thought it was either going to strangle me--or push me down the stairs!

Alix lives in Augusta, Georgia. After her father dies, she takes a job in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
