Many of us cannot wait to escape our hometowns and move to the "big city," where we're certain we will find fame, fortune, and happiness. It is a nice dream, but reality often falls short. And so it was for Mandy Bailey, who left her native Kentucky for art school in New York City. She finds love, all right-or at least that's what she thinks. Mandy returns to her hometown after the death of her beloved grandmother. At home, she finds the clarity and peace she's been missing. But she does not come home alone; she brings with her a secret that could ultimately cost Mandy her life. She knows that if her hometown community discovers her secret, her life there would be challenging, to say the least. Even as her hopes of happiness seem bleak, Mandy finds out life can be amazing-even when faced with life-altering challenges-when hometown roots and faith in God are there for support.
