Jason Ward's plans to run a ranch in a valley in New Castle, Arizona are interrupted when he becomes witness to the murder of local rancher Evan Taylor. The killers spot Jason, capture him, and frame him for the murder, sending Jason to prison while the gang, led by foreman Ben Blount, plot to take Taylor's ranch for themselves.

When Jason is finally paroled for the murder, he returns to New Castle to prove his innocence. Upon his arrival, he meets Jenny Taylor, daughter of the man Jason has been accused of killing. At first Jenny doesn't trust him, but as the two get to know each other better, Jenny soon becomes convinced of Jason's innocence and a romance slowly blossoms between the two of them.

Meanwhile, killer Ben Blount fears that Jason and Jenny will find the evidence they need to prove his role in Evan Taylor's murder. He plots a desperate scheme to destroy the both of them, leading his gang to Jason's ranch where they burn it to the ground and kidnap Jenny. Jason, destitute and vengeful, pursues his nemesis with an oath: he won't rest until Jenny is rescued and Blount has been destroyed.
